    Global Mobility Specialist

    Calypso seeks a hands-on, business-minded individual with extensive experience managing multiple international tax equalization cases and workflows as well as experience with international and US immigration.  The individual will possess a proactive orientation to efficiently resolve tax equalization and immigration related issues across all levels within the company. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Total Rewards in the Human Resources Department, and works closely with assignees, external vendors, and members of the Human Resources and Finance teams.

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Act as the primary contact on tax-related questions and issues for international assignees
    • Provide tax advice and insight to Calypso management regarding tax and social security issues related to international travel
    • Identify opportunities to maximize the value of the company’s many international assignments through program cost savings and tax minimization
    • Provide consultation and on-going support for assignees, managers, and HR business partners regarding tax equalization policy, questions, issues, and employee deliverables
    • Assist in designing and enhancing expatriate tax policies processes, systems, and tools
    • Exercise independent judgment and problem solving when unusual situations arise
    • Analyze data to determine required tax equalization assistance requirements, and to prepare and manage cost estimates associated with the assignments
    • Manage foreign personal income tax compliance for home and host countries, which includes gathering and reviewing data for return preparation, compiling travel calendars, reviewing and filing returns, and coordinating between assignees and external vendors
    • Coordinate with Finance to arrange for the settlement of tax equalization payments
    • Maintain and monitor tax calendar and to-do lists to ensure various elements are completed timely
    • Manage relationship with Ernest & Young for tax equalization
    • Develop communication programs for employees and management related to tax equalization
    • Work closely with external counsel to process international and US immigration
    • Assist employees with questions and document needs related to immigration and travel
    • Oversee company relocation program and vendor management

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Five or more years’ experience managing global mobility programs, including tax equalization
    • Deep understanding of, and strong ability to communicate, tax and tax-equalization concepts to assignees and managers
    • Good understanding of immigration processes and laws
    • Ability to think outside the box
    • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills
    • Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to manage multiple cases and workflows, self-motivation and deadline orientation
    • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, relationship-building, and verbal/written communication skills (including across cultural boundaries)
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
