Topic: Gender Parity in the Mobile Workforce and Silicon Valley
Gender parity in the workplace in general has been uneven for males and females for many years…..people wouldn’t still be talking about glass ceilings if they didn’t exist! According to the World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap Report, given the current rate of change, it will take an incredible 217 more years to achieve gender equality. The research suggests that the economic gender gap is actually widening instead of closing, meaning that, there is still a long way to go before gender equality is achieved in all areas of the global workforce, and for relocating employees and international assignees this is no different.
Mercer reports that the average percentage of women in the expatriate workforce globally is a paltry 14%. The effect of this cannot be overstated, with consequences overflowing into talent acquisition and management, as well as leadership development and pay equity.
BAMM has gathered a panel of subject matter authorities to address what companies in the Bay are doing today, and planning for in the future, to create a more inclusive company culture, with less gender bias, and more opportunity for all. If your organization is in the process of implementing change, or is interested in learning more about how to eliminate bias when hiring or selecting employees for relocation and assignments, please join us for this engaging meeting content.
